Mechanical work deserves more than a confident-looking number.
MechPlane exists for the moment before a drawing, purchase order, or machine setting makes a preliminary decision expensive to revisit.
What it is
MechPlane is a browser-local decision platform for early mechanical design and manufacturing work. It is built around the fact that practical engineering questions rarely arrive as clean textbook problems.
A choice about a motor can change the gearbox, shaft, bearing, coupling, and manufacturing path. A tolerance decision can change fit, inspection, cost, and assembly risk. The useful work is seeing those dependencies before they become rework.
What it is not
MechPlane does not provide engineering approval, code compliance, safety certification, production release, CAD, FEA, CAM, G-code, or live supplier quotes.
Its role is to make a preliminary path inspectable, identify the next evidence needed, and stop when a simple model is not enough.
01
Answer first
Start with the decision a visitor came to make, then reveal the reasoning and uncertainty that qualify it.
02
Show the boundary
Missing input and violated assumptions are useful information, not an inconvenience to hide.
03
Keep it local
Decision logic belongs in the browser when it can be deterministic, private, and independent of traffic volume.
